Hi, my name is Lianne, I am 45 years old and I have been a London Taxi Driver for 19 months. I love my job but have found that my body does not, resulting in all kinds of aches and pains from being sat for extended periods of time.
I started Pilates to alleviate the pains and now I am training to become a Pilates instructor so that I can help out my fellow cabbies. I hope to offer some Pilates core training for my CDK 2020 teammates in preparation for the climb.
I like to run to keep fit, the furthest distance I’ve run is a half marathon. I am not quite ready for the London Marathon but I would love to, one day.
Despite being quite fit I have still managed to gain weight, partly due to the poor diet whilst out on the road, my hope is that I am able to lose a stone by the time I climb Kilimanjaro.
It’s been a tough year personally for me so to find out I had been awarded the opportunity to join this adventure was great news. By my reckoning, if I can climb Kilimanjaro then I can do anything.
I am really looking forward to getting stuck into my training and I am honoured to be able to represent this great trade on CDK 2020.
